We want to give you a review of what you will enjoy during your trip.
We start the ascent from the village of La Soledad, municipality of Acatenango, department of Chimaltenango, towards the Acatenango volcano around 9:30am, towards where our base camp is located, which is approximately 6km, around 6 hours of ascent and the elevation goes away. increased for every meter we advance. We have several strategic points where we will make technical stops, including one of long duration which we eat our lunch. We continue until we reach the camp where we will leave our luggage. Being in our camp we will have a 180° view to the southeast of the Agua volcano and Pacaya volcano, to the northwest of the Santa María volcano in Quetzaltenango, San Pedro, Tolimán and Atitlán in Sololá.
We continue towards the volcano of fire approximately 3km away, 1:30h of walking more, until we reach the «Camellon» viewpoint authorized to enjoy the show. After our sunset we will go back to the camp where we will enjoy a campfire and a well-deserved cup of Guatemalan coffee and that is where you take a moment to reflect and be infected by the mysticism of that place.
